Welcome to Brumley Farms…
home to the annual Ranch Royalty Production Sale
We are located in the high desert of Northern Nevada on the Oregon Idaho border at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountain Range in the town of Orovada. A small town of approximately 250 people made up of prime seed farms, alfalfa and cattle ranches. We are a family run operation of approximately 125 head of pure bred Hereford cattle and raise both alfalfa and grass hay. Because of our remote location we do only a small amount of embryo work on what we consider a small but elite set of proven donor cows.
We have worked for over 25 years to put together a set of females that are not “just another pretty face,” but work and will hold up in any environment. We have been very fortunate in the show ring with several National Champions to date, but most importantly these cattle have gone on to produce champions! We run our cattle as they should be, in a commercial setting with no creep. We sell a limited set of herd bulls annually, because if it is not something we would use on our cows then we would not sell it to a customer! We are proud to say we have a high demand from returning customers, we think this is praise enough! We run our cattle as they should be, in a commercial setting with no creep.
This year’s Ranch Royalty Online Sale will be held October 17, 2021! Watch this page for more details and information. Click the Sales page to see pictures and videos.
These heifers have gone on to be very successful in the show ring but most importantly many of them have gone on to become donors! Our philosophy has always been that first and foremost these heifers must become cows! No matter how successful a show career, it means nothing if they cannot produce! Our cattle are bred to be functional, moderate, perfect in udder quality and yet be pretty to look at. We keep a very balanced set of EPD’s, we believe these are tools and use EPD’s, structure, and soundness with placing a strong emphasis on the maternal side.
Visitors are always welcome at the ranch to view the cattle. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us. Thank you for your interest and taking the time to look through our website!
